What Music Do You Listen To While Working Out: When I’m lifting, I want hard rock. When I’m cycling or running, it needs to be powerful pump-up jams.
How Did You Get Into Fitness/This Industry: In high school I went through a weight loss and joined the track team. Then in college I did recreational tennis and swimming. I’ve canoed, cross-country skied and cycled all over the Catskills. At 40, I decided I needed a trainer and eventually made the career transfer to fitness.
Favorite Workout: Spin cycle classes
Why do you do what you do? The excitement of seeing people when they transform their lives… also, having the power to transform their lives. When You’re Not Working, What Are You Doing: Traveling, discovering craft beers, spending time with family and friends.
Proudest Personal Athletic/Fitness Moment: With the HealthPlex team and my oldest son, going out in the pouring rain and tackling the ADK Extreme ropes course.
When You Aren’t Training What Are You Doing: Cycling the Mohawk Trail
Fun/Weird Fact: I once dressed up as Morticia Adams Best Advice For Someone Beginning Their Exercise Journey: Bring a POSITIVE buddy, start with small steps and don’t look back. Have a fantastic goal… it’s gotta be big enough. Your “why” has to make you cry.
